Supporting Free Tigard Heath Clinic
The Essential Healthcare Clinic in Tigard is a nationally replicated model pairing physicians and other healthcare professionals with low-income and uninsured people in need of care, many of whom are children.
Patients at the clinic are carefully screened for eligibility as there are strict requirements for participation. Enrolled patients are given medical care for as long as their condition continues, although financial eligibility is checked every six months.
Project Access, a program started by Essential Health Clinic, coordinates a network of physicians who donate time and services to low-income, uninsured individuals.
Our support of the Essential Care Clinic is basic and appropriate to Presbyterians: we feed the staff! On a monthly basis we provide dinner for the staff at the Tigard clinic, and it has been reported that the staff look forward to the night Tualatin Presbyterian Church is cooking the grub. If you are interested in helping out in this meaningful way, please contact our Mission Elder.
