TPC Staff

We believe every member of Tualatin Presbyterian Church is a minister, however we look to a few special folks for unique leadership and care. Our church staff includes an office manager, a financial and membership administrator, a music director, a bell choir director, an accompanist, two child care workers, and a Minister of the Word and Sacrament.

TPC called The Rev. Ken Evers-Hood in Sept. 2004. He earned his Masters of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary and is currently pursuing doctoral work at Duke. Ken serves the larger denomination in various roles, and when he’s not doing all of this, enjoys hanging out with his three children, reading, back packing, running, and eating great food all around Portland.

Susan Springer has a long history at TPC and began working as our office manager in 2007. She is generally responsible for the administrative aspects of the church office. So, if you have questions about the church calendar, building usage, the newsletter, or other such administrative matters, Susan is the person with whom you want to speak! When she’s not working at the church, you may still see her in the sanctuary practicing with the bells, or singing with the choir, or in the early morning you might her outside walking, enjoying the wonders that are Oregon.

Rhoda Friesen
joined the staff of TPC in the summer of 2001 and is responsible for tracking membership and keeping her sharp eyes focused on the church finances. Her normal days to be in the office are Mondays and Wednesdays. When she’s not participating in the varied, active environment of the church office Rhoda enjoys keeping busy at home with needlework, yardwork, or best of all, traveling with her husband, Phil.

Kris Sparks
is in her 11th year as music director at TPC. She recently retired from a 30-year career as a music educator for the Lake Oswego School District. She is currently establishing a keyboard studio for adults in Tualatin called It’s Never Too Late. In her spare time she enjoys reading, walking and playing the piano.

Martha Wilson has been ringing handbells for over 20 years. She has directed two previous church handbell choirs. She is member of Bells of the Cascades. In addition to her love of music, she enjoys reading and genealogy research. She is a mental health counselor by profession.

Dr. Renato (Ron) Fabbro is our unbelievable accompanist. Dr. Ron graduated with his Bachelor and Masters Degrees in piano performance from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and earned his Doctoral degree in Musical Arts from Rice University. Ron currently serves on the faculty of the University of Portland, has appeared as a featured soloist with the Portland Symphony, and has performed at the Aspen Music Festival, Sarasota Music Festival, Boulder Bach Festival, and Colorado Mozart.

Laurie Davis has been providing skilled and nurturing care for our nursery since 2008.  When she isn’t running an awesome nursery Laurie loves to run (she is a marathoner!), and she is a professional masseuse.

Casey Davis started working in our nursery in 2011 after having volunteered in our vacation bible school.  Casey has a wealth of experience with little ones as a great big brother.  He has also taken classes in child development and is Red Cross certified.
